About-me-picture-v2

A little about me...

My name is Melody. I discover patterns and solve complex problems by understanding how users think.

I am a trained psychotherapist and have held positions as a School Social Worker, Family Therapist and Mental Health Clinician facilitating both group and individual sessions. This experience, along with a research background and B.A. in Philosophy, has strengthened critical thinking skills which help to cut to the core of any challenging problem. I approach design from a humanistic perspective, defining existing journeys to improve experiences. By discovering the intersection between business and user goals, wireframes and high fidelity mockups are created and then tested by real people.

My passion for problem solving came from my mother, who was able to resourcefully invent solutions to common household problems. I discovered UX design while browsing YouTube. Learning about the career felt surreal because it combined all of my  passions in one. I knew I had to make a career transition and I've been pursuing design ever since.

When I am not designing, I enjoy painting, tending to my urban garden, spending time with my pet reptile named Unity, and watching post-apocalyptic TV shows. Please feel free to send me a message at Melodyux.design@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you.
